CGIC Quebec Branch Webinar – A Hack Into Cyber Security, Corporate Governance and Organizational Resilience
On Thursday, March 18, 2021, Yves Duguay, CEO and founder of HciWorld, and Camilo Baratto, Corporate Director, Insurance at Kruger Inc., will discuss what boards can do to build organizational resilience and prepare to respond quickly and effectively to Cyberattacks. The webinar will do a deep dive on the critical role of ensuring cyber risk- what is covered and what is not, and break down the domains within a Cyber Security risk assessment in order to facilitate the discussions and understanding.
Today, most large companies and organizations, whether they recognize it or not, share a high cyber risk profile. When you consider the persistence and frequency of cyber attacks in North America, we can no longer ask IF our businesses will be affected. It is also WHEN and how FREQUENTLY these attacks will affect our operations and reputation.
Combined with this is the need to comply with the many national and international regulatory requirements to protect the confidentiality and integrity of informational assets, especially those belonging to our customers and partners. In that context, one of the essential roles for Board members is to ensure that the organization’s strategy offers a defensible position, supported by diligent and reasonable actions, aligned with its business objectives.
Accordingly, do you feel that you are provided with sufficient information to meet your fiduciary role? Are these matters discussed regularly during your board meetings? Do you think your organization would be prepared to respond to a significant cyber incident, as recently exemplified with the Solar Wind attack?
