The Chartered Governance Institute of Canada is a division of The Chartered Governance Institute (CGI), formerly known as the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (ICSA). The Chartered Governance Institute is the premier global qualifying organisation for professionals aspiring to become a Chartered Secretary and/or Chartered Governance Professional and qualifies people who have roles as company secretaries, governance advisers, risk managers, compliance managers, and more.

The Chartered Governance Institute is an international body, with over 30,000 members living and working in over 80 countries. Its nine divisions worldwide support membership and qualifying students through its international qualifying scheme.
