Online DEAP Session Scheduled for August 19 – 21, 2020
The Directors’ Education and Accreditation Program (DEAP) is a short, intensive, and effective way for you to have a high-quality insight into the role of a board Director and provide you with knowledge of key areas related to that role. The program provides the tools to help you manage your responsibility to your organization, its stakeholders, and yourself in the best possible way.

PROGRAM INFO:
DEAP welcomes experienced and newly appointed directors with management or professional experience. Participants are drawn from a mix of backgrounds including public, Crown, and not-for-profit corporations.
WORK BEFORE THE SESSION:
DEAP delivers critical content in a condensed period of time. When you register for DEAP, you will receive access to the study guides to be reviewed ahead time, ensuring the group begins the program at a similar level of knowledge. Depending on your background, plan on spending up to 30-40 hours with these materials in advance to familiarize yourself with the subject matter.
DURING THE SESSION:
The workshop is three days in duration consisting of presentations, discussions, case studies, and an assessment (completed in class) for each module. The session provides a unique opportunity to learn about many different sectors; come prepared to share your experiences and perspectives with the group.

- Thursday, August 20, 2020 – Finance (Garnet Fenn)
- Friday, August 21, 2022 – Strategy and Risk (Logan Atkinson)
Each day begins at 8:00 am Eastern.
AFTER THE SESSION:
Upon successful completion, you will be awarded the Accredited Director designation (Acc.Dir.) and receive membership in our Affiliate Group for the remainder of the calendar year and next. As an Affiliate Group member, access to special rates for seminars, workshops, and other continuing professional development opportunities.
Certification Maintenance – Although no formal Professional Development hours are currently required, certification is maintained through continuous annual membership.
