7 teams. 221 competitors.
1 International champion team took home the $10,000 prize!

On April 19, 2021, 12 finalist teams competed virtually in the international championship round of the PRMIA Risk Management Challenge (PRMC). The teams represented undergraduate and graduate students from colleges and universities across the globe. As a part of the competition, teams participated in a MATLAB Challenge. Teams were tasked with creating a working dashboard and summary report derived from the National Australia Bank case that addressed both the risk and performance of an options market making desk.  Our congratulations go out to the 2021 Risk Management Challenge champions, The Big Four from Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto: Jason Ho, Xinyuan (Laura) Liu, Mingze Li, and Xiangyi (Irene) Liang. The champions were awarded the $10,000 in prize money for the team and were offered fee waivers to pursue the Professional Risk Manager (PRM™) designation.  Join CGIC on August 25, as Jason Ho presents the winning case study. Learn from a future risk leader as he showcases the knowledge, critical thinking skills, leadership, and presentation abilities that lead the team to win the 2021 International Challenge.

SPEAKER BIO:

Jason Ho - PRMIA Risk Challenge

Jason Ho, Master of Financial Risk Management Graduate from Rotman School of Management.

The summer after high school I biked around Taiwan. The entire country in 10 days.

Growing up in Hong Kong, an international financial hub where bikes are displaced by quickened footsteps, I was surrounded by concrete rather than nature. Yet against all odds, I journeyed across Taiwan. Through blazing sun, limping legs and overdoses of night market snacks, I cycled through trails that even cyclists choose to omit.

Now I put that perseverance and goal-oriented approach to apply data science and programming in quantitative finance. I am a candidate for the CFA and FRM designations, and have recently written a research paper that won a scholarship in Economics at University of Toronto.
