GUEST SPEAKER:

Dr. William Holmes is an Associate Professor in the School of Business at Royal Roads University where he has also served as Vice-President Academic & Provost (Interim) and Dean, Faculty of Management. He has held positions at the Sheridan Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning as Dean, Faculty of Business and as Vice Provost and at Simon Fraser University as Adjunct Professor and Executive Director of the Undergraduate Program in Business. He has also served as the Instructional Manager (Dean) of Business for the Higher Colleges of Technology in the United Arab Emirates. Prior to his academic career, Holmes worked in Toronto in Corporate Trust, Corporate Services, and Stock and Bond Transfer for several major Canadian financial institutions.
Dr. Holmes holds a Doctor of Business Administration from the University of Southern Queensland, a Master of Business Administration from the University of British Columbia, a Master of Arts in Philosophy (Ethics) from the University of Waterloo, and undergraduate degrees in Economics and Philosophy, also from Waterloo. He is an Accredited Director (Acc.Dir) and Fellow (FCG) of The Chartered Governance Institute of Canada and serves on their provincial (BC) and national boards of directors. Holmes holds the Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CMA, CGA) and the Chartered Human Resource Professional (CHRP) designations. He has served on the Board of Directors of the Minerva Safety Council of Canada, the Boards of Governors of Royal Roads University and the Sheridan Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning, and as Director, Treasurer, and Chair of the Finance Committee on the Board of Directors of NAFSA: The Association of International Educators.
