Most organizations fail to realize their strategic goals. This webinar will describe strategy from four perspectives – planning/process, formulation, implementation, and monitoring. After a brief overview of planning and formulation, the focus will be on governors’ considerations for strategy implementation and monitoring. The topic will conclude with recommendations for governors responsible for strategic oversight and an opportunity for questions and answers.

Michael Morrison
Michael Morrison is an Executive Director with Island Health, where he has worked for the past eight years. The people on this team work in acute care and long-term care settings and comprise approximately 3,200 employees. Before joining Island Health, Michael worked for 17 years as a civilian administrator in the federal public service with the Department of National Defence. He is a CPA CMA with a Master’s in Business Administration a Master of Defence Studies. And is completing research towards a Doctor of Business Administration focusing on strategy implementation. He is a Certified Health Executive (CHE) with graduate certificates in executive management, strategy, communications, and negotiation. He is a volunteer board member with not-for-profit organizations and a contract instructor at Royal Roads University, where he teaches accounting to MBA students. At CPA BC, he leads strategy, leadership, change management, and governance.
