The Chartered Governance Institute of Canada (CGIC) named Brock Olive its new Director of Education effective January 6, 2025.

Brock brings over 20 years of progressive leadership experience spanning business, higher education, and professional development. His career includes several senior roles within higher education such as Executive Director of Corporate & Continuing Education with NAIT and Director of Operations with Algoma University. These roles have allowed him to lead teams, design and deliver impactful education programs, and create strong partnerships that bridge the gap between education and industry.

Brock holds a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree and is completing an MBA at Cape Breton University.

Brock has continually championed innovative approaches to competency-based education and professional development. His academic and professional achievements have been instrumental in shaping his ability to design programs that address evolving workforce and governance challenges.

In his new role, Brock will leverage his extensive experience to lead CGIC’s education initiatives. He will oversee the development of forward-thinking governance programming, enhance professional certification pathways, and support members in achieving governance excellence.

Brock Olive will replace Umeka Naidoo, who vacated the position in November 2024.
