CGIC CPD Webinar – Putting AI to work in a Business built on Compliance and Trust

AI adoption in Canadian organisations has increased more than eightfold in three years, rising from 5% to 43%, according to CPA Canada’s 2026 AI in Accounting Study. Yet only 45% have a formal AI policy and just 34% have implemented employee training or governance structures around it. For governance and compliance professionals, the question is whether the structures around your enterprise AI are keeping pace.

In this session, Damian Leach, Chief AI & Digital Officer at Vistra, will share what happens when you put AI to work inside a global professional services organisation where compliance, auditability and trust are the product.

Key takeaways

  • Human-in-the-loop by design: Why responsible AI adoption in compliance-driven businesses demands that human oversight, auditability and accountability are built into every workflow, not bolted on afterwards.
  • From experimentation to enterprise value: What separates organisations running isolated AI pilots from those putting AI agents into production, and why governance plays a critical enabling role in making that leap.
  • What governance professionals can do now: Actionable steps attendees can take to move from reactive AI oversight to proactive governance that builds trust with leadership, regulators and stakeholders.
