The Chartered Governance Institute of Canada (CGIC) celebrated its 2025 award winners on June 16, 2025, in conjunction with their AGM.

Tanya Hinds, ACG received a posthumous Rising Star Award in recognition of significant career potential within the first five years of achieving Associate Chartered Status.

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our 2025 Rising Star Award recipient, Ms.
Tanya A. Hinds, Attorney-at-Law, who departed this life on May 24, 2025.

Ms. Hinds brought to each matter a quiet professionalism and deep sense of care for her clients and colleagues alike. She was deeply committed to self-actualization and lifelong learning, having most recently completed a Master of Laws with a focus on Corporate Governance. Her final thesis explored the timely and complex topic of the challenges and implications of the incorporation of Artificial Intelligence in Corporate Governance which reflected her forward-thinking mindset and keen understanding of the evolving legal landscape. Ms. Hinds was also an esteemed Associate of The Chartered Governance Institute, having completed the International Qualifying Program in 2023. We extend our heartfelt condolences to her family, friends, colleagues, and all those who mourn her passing.
