Nicholas F. Cheung is a seasoned senior leader with BIG, a boutique governance advisory firm, specializing in risk management, financial education and association management. Previously serving as VP Privacy Training at The Privacy Pro, he played a key role in educating clients on building and enhancing privacy programs to cultivate a robust privacy culture within organizations. Nick co-authored the AICPA/CPA Canada Privacy Maturity Model and The Canadian Privacy and Data Security Toolkit for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises.
In his role as VP Member Services at CPA Canada, Nick was instrumental in the transition team that unified the three accounting designations. He also held significant positions as Chief Privacy Officer, National Sustainability Leader, and national spokesperson for financial literacy.
Nick’s extensive experience includes teaching accounting and personal/corporate tax as a professor at Seneca College. He is currently the Treasurer and board director for the Governance Professionals of Canada and serves as a faculty member with the Chartered Governance Institute of Canada. For 25 years, Nick has volunteered with the CRA’s Community Volunteer Income Tax Program providing tax assistance to individuals and families with modest incomes.
Nick is a Chartered Professional Accountant, Certified Information Privacy Manager, Accredited Director and holds the GPC.D designation.
