CGIC Quebec Branch CPD Webinar – Crisis Management for Governance Professionals

Communicating in a timely and effective manner during a crisis is essential to protecting or at least mitigating damage to corporate reputation. Without it, the hard work of building and maintaining a good reputation can be permanently undermined if not destroyed in mere moments. It is noteworthy that organizations are often remembered more for how they managed an incident than for the incident itself.  It is also significant that the impetus for developing crisis communication plans and ensuring that management is prepared to respond most often comes from the board of directors.

On November 24, Jane Shapiro, SVP and National Crisis Communications Lead at Hill+Knowlton Strategies Canada, will discuss what is motivating more boards and other governance professionals to undertake crisis communications preparedness activities, what the roles and responsibilities of boards are in a crisis and how boards and management can best work together in urgent situations. The webinar will also explore the core elements of crisis communications plans and the importance of testing plans in advance of the potential need to activate them.
