His transaction experience spans structured finance, project finance, syndicated lending, and capital markets origination across seven countries.
Earlier in his career, Martin trained and worked as a physician before transitioning into international banking. This multidisciplinary background, combined with experience across sectors, institutions, and countries, has shaped his perspective on governance, risk, and institutional decision-making.

He completed his corporate governance education through the International Qualifying Program (IQP) of The Chartered Governance Institute, having previously held membership with The Chartered Governance Institute in the United Kingdom from 2013 before recently joining the Canadian Division.
Martin has been an active volunteer in the professional community, serving as a long-standing mentor with the ACCES Employment program in Toronto and currently as a board member of the Maison Elizabeth Foundation in Montreal. His election to the CGIC Board of Directors reflects his commitment to advancing governance standards among finance and investment professionals across Canada.
