MOU Entry for ICSI Members

CGI/ICSI Membership Reciprocity

To expand the boundaries for our professionals and move and work beyond territorial barriers, the Institute of Company Secretaries of India entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with The Chartered Governance Institute for providing reciprocal paper-wise exemption and membership for their members.  As per the provisions of the MoU, members of the ICSI can study with the CGI Division of their choice (subject to residency requirements in some countries) and members of CGI can study with the ICSI at a range of centers in India.

Looking to study in Canada?  The MOU stipulates that members of ICSI can progress to membership with the Canada Division by successfully completing three modules of the qualifying program - Corporate Governance, Corporate Law, and Risk Management.

The first step in the process is to get your ICSI membership verified.  The ICSI has enabled an online Endorsement of Member Verification.  Members can access the same through their online account at the ICSI website following these instructions. Once the endorsement process is complete, the ICSI will send details of members to the Canada Division.  When received, CGIC's Director of Education will contact the ICSI member by email for further process of registering as an student.
