It’s Time to Renew Your 2021 CGIC Membership

2020 was an eventful year for the Canadian Division of The Chartered Governance Institute, a worldwide qualifying body for Governance Professionals. We, like so many of you, had to adjust our operations overnight in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.  CGIC moved our two certification programs – the International Qualifying Program and Directors’ Education and Accreditation Program – online this year and also launched virtual continuing professional development and networking events that were available to all members regardless of their location.  But that was only the beginning…

CGIC has also been working hard to solidify the standing of the Canadian Division and improve the visibility of, and participation in our certification programs.  The Division was recently recognized by CGI as being “the first in the global network to adopt The Institute’s new name and brand in its totality”.  You’ve likely heard the news of our new unique value proposition, revamped website, and increased social media presence on LinkedInYouTubeTwitter, and Facebook.  If you haven’t, we encourage you to check them out!

As we transition into 2021, there is still more work to be done to empower, strengthen, and advance the status of governance professionals in our region.  Your support is instrumental in keeping up the momentum as we move From Challenge to Opportunity. We encourage you to not just renew your membership, but we also challenge you to become a volunteer and/or ambassador and help us grow The Institute.

Thank you for your continued support.

President

A couple of housekeeping notes:

  • Membership fees cover the calendar year (January to December) and expire December 31 annually.  Membership fees are non-refundable.
  • Members are encouraged to renew by the payment due date of February 28, 2021 to avoid a disruption of benefits.
  • Continuous membership must be maintained to use the CGIC designations.  Members with outstanding balances are subject to be withdrawn from the membership roster as of July 1 annually.  Those who have let their membership lapse may be subject to a reinstatement process and extra fees.
  • Our 2021 membership pricing has been updated to be all-inclusive – no more add-on (or hidden) fees!

Please note that your invoice is no longer pre-loaded. You must follow the steps and add your membership renewal to your account in order to confirm and pay the amount owing. We encourage you to review the How Do I Renew My Membership PDF for step-by-step instructions if you are experiencing issues. If you still have questions, please email our membership team at info@charteredgovernanceinstitute.ca.
